PIONEERS FINALIZE ROSTER
The West Division Champion Elmira Pioneers have finalized their 2024 roster with three additions. INF-Camdin Jansen (Central Michigan University), INF-Manuel Castro (Northern Essex Community College), & INF-Patrick Ward (Florida Atlantic University) have joined the current West Division Champs before opening day on May 31st.
Camdin Jansen is a 6’2, 195-pound Redshirt Freshman Infielder from Central Michigan University. He has only appeared in one game this season for the Chippewas. As a senior in high school at Racine Lutheran (Wi.), he broke single season school records for stolen bases (33), triples (5), and slugging percentage (.650).
Manule Castro is a 5’10, 190-pound Freshman Infielder from Northern Essex Community College. In 35 games this season he has a .353 batting average, along with three home runs, 36 runs scored, 29 runs batted in, and 11 stolen bases. Castro will be the 4th NECC Knight on the current roster.
Patrick Ward is a 6’3, 175-pound Sophomore Infielder from Florida Atlantic University. This season he has a .233 batting average, along with two home runs, 16 runs scored, and 10 runs batted in. Ward is teammates with former 2023 Pioneer fan favorite John Schroeder at FAU.
The Pioneers season begins Friday May 31st at Historic Dunn Field vs the Batavia Muckdogs 6:30 PM with post-game fireworks sponsored by Hilliard Corporation & Southern Tier Custom Fabrication. Season tickets are on sale for just $99 as well as single game tickets. Call 607-734-2690.
