PIONEERS ANNOUNCE NEXT ADDITIONS OF THE 2024 ROSTER
The West Division Champion Elmira Pioneers have officially released another part of their 2024 Roster. Aidan Grabowski, UTL (Tiffin University), Aidan Stern UTL (Trinity College), Andy Schroeder, INF (Polk State College of Florida), Bobby Cavalier, OF (University of Pittsburgh-Bradford), Brad Alexander, RHP (Saint Michael’s College) Connor Freeman, LHP (Paris Junior College), Max LaLime, OF (Northern Essex Community College), & Thomas Fratto, INF (Northern Essex Community College will call Dunn Field home this summer.
Aidan Grabowski is a 5’11, 175-pound Junior Utility player from Tiffin University. This season he has a .238 batting average in 117 at-bats, along with 24 runs scored and 11 runs batted in. He also has 16 stolen bases and has only been caught stealing three times.
Aidan Stern is a 5’8, 180-pound Freshman Utility player from Trinity College. This season he has a .336 batting average in 119 at-bats, along with 30 runs scored and 21 runs batted in. He also has 20 stolen bases and has only been caught stealing four times.
Andy Schroeder brings a familiar name back to the Pioneers this season as the Pioneers relied heavily on his older brother John Schroeder (Florida Atlantic University) during their West Division Championship season last year. Andy is a 5’11, 165-pound Freshman Infielder from Polk State College of Florida. In his senior year at Lakewood Ranch High School (Fl.) he had a .311 batting average with 17 runs batted in and 15 runs scored.
Bobby Cavalier will bring some more local talent to the team this season. The 6’0, 175-pound Freshman Outfielder from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford played high school baseball at Elmira High. Cavalier had a career .286 batting average during his time there.
Brad Alexander is a 6’3, 190-pound Freshman Right-Handed Pitcher at Saint Michael’s College. He has pitched 11.0 innings this season and has five wins with 11 runs against.
Connor Freeman is a 6’3, 190-pound Freshman Left-Handed Pitcher at Paris Junior College (Tx.). He played high school baseball at Vandegrift High (Tx.) and was a defensive back on his high school football team as well. Freeman brings great size and athleticism to the Pios this summer.
The Pioneers will add a pair of players from Northern Essex Community College in Max LaLime & Thomas Fratto. LaLime is a 5’10, 180-pound Sophomore Outfielder. In 34 games this season he has a ,374 batting average, along with six home runs, 44 runs scored, 42 runs batted in, and 27 stolen bases. Fratto is a 5’11, 190-pound Freshman Infielder. In 33 games this season he has a .303 batting average, along with five home runs, 29 runs batted in, 28 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases.
The Pioneers season begins Friday May 31st at Historic Dunn Field vs the Batavia Muckdogs 6:30 PM with post-game fireworks sponsored by Hilliard Corporation & Southern Tier Custom Fabrication. Season tickets are on sale for just $99 as well as single game tickets. Call 607-734-2690.
