2024 SEASON RECAP & EVENTS TO COME

Elmira, NY- The back to back West Division Champion Elmira Pioneers had an amazing season on the field and another amazing year off the field.

The 2024 PGCBL West Division Champion Pioneers fell just short of winning the PGCBL championship but the team impacted the community in a championship manner all year long.  The Pioneers kicked off the season walking in three Memorial Day Parades to start off training camp, with Elmira, Elmira Heights, & Horseheads ceremonies.   Another highlight was visiting senior citizens at Woodbrook Assisted Living for a special lunch and meet & greet.  Players visited schools in Tioga, Schuyler, & Chemung county as well.

As the season kicked off the Pioneers hosted over 600 youth baseball & softball buddies during the year playing catch pregame before games at Dunn Field.  The Pioneers visit Challenger Division Baseball for an incredible day as player & coach buddies, assisting players with physical and intellectual challenges throughout the day. Dunn Field along with Pioneer staff and players hosted baseball training camps as well.

The Elmira Pioneers teamed up with over 19 non-profits or charity organizations helping spread awareness and raise funds for their causes.  July 13th was the Pioneers annual Domestic Violence Awareness Night in partnership with Catholic Charities “First Step” Program.  Friday July 19th was Military Appreciation night in Partnership with Wreaths Across America.  All Veterans received free entry to the game and the Pioneers helped raise close to $2,000 for Wreaths Across America.  The Pioneers closed out the regular season with a pet food drive on July 28th helping collect donations for the Chemung County Animal Shelter.

The Elmira Pioneers would like to thank their great community for all the support and are honored to keep this brand strong in our community.  2025 season tickets are on sale now starting as low as $99.  The Pioneers look to stay active in the off season as well, as many more events are planned.  On Thursday September 19th the Pioneers the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System) will team up for their annual Veterans Stand Down event from 10 AM – 1 PM, presented by Hilliard Corporation & Blaze Brockway Contracting.  Military surplus items & other items will be available to all veterans (valid VA ID or DD214).  Next on Friday October 25th Dunn Field will host Pioneers Trick-or-Treat, presented by Hilliard Corporation & Blaze Brockway Contracting.
